Ian is a founding Partner of The Brookes Partnership LLP and is responsible for the management of the firm. Prior to founding the Brookes Partnership, Ian was a Managing Director at Dresdner Kleinwort and Head of DKW consumer staples team for 10 years and a top-ranked European food analyst (1998-2001). Prior to this Ian held management roles in the food industry for RHM and Unigate in both financial and general management. From 2006 to 2011 Ian conducted Brookes Partnership work with Blackstone and a number of other leading private equity firms on a range of food and beverage transactions. Ian is also controlling shareholder and Managing Director of Hambledon Vineyard plc, a leading English sparkling wine producer. Ian graduated from London University BSc in biochemistry and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
David is currently Senior Independent Director of two FTSE100 organisations: Shire, the pharmaceuticals company (where he is also Deputy Chairman), and Intercontinental Hotels. David is also Chairman of a private company ADS2Brands Ltd, a brewing equipment business where he supported an MBO . He spent his executive career with Cadbury Schweppes, initially working for the Group between 1965 and 1984 in a wide range of financial and strategic roles. He re-joined the Group in 1989 following its acquisition of Trebor Group, where he was Finance Director. He then served as Cadbury Schweppes' Chief Financial Officer from 1995 until his retirement in 2004. During this time he served on boards in a range of different countries. He was previously Chairman of Premier Foods and a non-executive director of HMV and Camelot Group. David is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Rick is a Partner of The Brookes Partnership LLP. Rick has extensive experience of the UK chilled convenience foods industry. From 2004-2008 Rick was Uniq UK CEO with a mandate to transform the structure of the business and build a platform for strong profitability. Prior to this Rick was Managing Director of RHM's Customer Partnerships division for 6 years running a business with sales of £700m. Prior to this Rick ran R.F.Brookes from 1980-1998, growing the business from £10m of sales to £160m of sales, organically.
Canadian by birth Rick has spent most of his career in the UK food industry. Rick has a long standing relationship with Harvard's Executive Programme both as an Alumni and as a sponsor of new participants.
Antony is a Partner with extensive experience in both the food and investment sectors. He is a non-executive director of Oscar Mayer Group, a leading chilled ready meals and prepared food business in the UK.
Before joining Brookes Partnership, Antony was the managing director of the Convenience Foods Division of Oscar Mayer. Prior to that he was the Strategy and Business Development Director at the €700 million turnover pan-European Alfesca Group (now known as Labeyrie Fine Foods).
Before his time in the food & drink sector, Antony worked for Kaupthing Bank, where he was involved in the establishment of the investment banking division focusing on the bank’s own proprietary investments as well as leading projects on behalf of retail and food clients.
Antony also spent time at Barclays Capital and is a qualified corporate finance lawyer having worked for the international law firms DLA Piper and Clifford Chance.
Keith has over 20 years experience in the global food industry in operational management. He has worked in General Management in the UK, Europe, Asia, and Africa in a variety of categories including dairy, fresh produce, food ingredients and bakery. From 1997 to 2007 Keith was Sector Partner at 3i Plc. and Global Head of the food and beverage team responsible for overall investment strategy, sector communications, deal origination and portfolio management. In this time Keith completed over 40 deals in the UK, Europe, Asia, China and the USA, improving sector performance through a clear, strategic approach to target investment returns and value creation. Since 2007 Keith has worked independently for private equity and privately-owned businesses in strategic and operational consultancy. He is currently chairman of two UK enterprises in the food industry and a supervisory board member of Poland's largest children's apparel retail chain.
Darren is a founding General Partner of The Brookes Partnership LLP and is responsible for the management of the firm's business in North America whilst being very actively engaged in the European business. Darren has extensive experience of financial markets and corporate finance in food having been a Managing Director at HSBC, Dresdner Kleinwort and Citigroup.
Darren has first and masters degrees in economics.
Victoria trained as a chartered accountant with PwC, where she worked in the Audit and Transaction Services Divisions in both the London and Sydney offices, gaining experience valuing a range of small and medium size businesses in sectors ranging from Industrial, to Financial Services, and Leisure. Subsequently she has spent 11 years as an equity analyst focused on the Consumer sector, formally on the sell side for Dresdner Kleinwort and Lehman brothers, before moving to the buy-side where she co-founded a Consumer Equity fund at Millennium Capital Partners. Her use of a broad range of valuation techniques in combination with a top down view of corporate strategy helped Victoria to successfully identify valuation anomalies in the market, thus good investment opportunities. Victoria gained an MA Hons degree in Geography from Christ Church, Oxford.
Howard has recently completed a long career in Finance with Unilever, latterly as Group Controller. In his career he has been Finance Director for the combined HPC and Food businesses of Central & East Europe, Latin America, and Europe. He has also headed Unilever’s Investor Relations function. Howard brings extensive experience of developing and executing both growth and restructuring centred strategies, has taken part in over 40 M&A transactions, and has a track-record of delivering profitable growth. He has been a non-executive director (2006 – 2012) of the Unilever Jeronimo Martins JV in Portugal.
